How to get the most from your primer

How to get the most from your primer

Primers can be a great addition to your skincare routine - but when should you apply it and how? Read on for expert advice.

A good primer can smooth skin, reduce shine and minimise the appearance of pores and fine lines so your skin is perfectly primed for make-up. It can also help your make-up last longer.

Leading makeup artist Hannah Martin explains that ‘like all skincare, a primer sits best on cleansed skin so even if you have double cleansed the night before, be sure to wash your face well ahead of applying your primer.’ In order to help your primer absorb into the skin, Hannah suggests ‘first applying a serum or lightweight moisturiser that will soften the skin and lock in some moisture into the surface layer of the skin.’ Naturally we love our Tri-Molecular Hyaluronic Serum and Collagen Boost moisturiser! She then suggests applying ‘your primer on top and then cup your face with your hands to help melt and warm the primer into your skin. If your palms get a little oily then you can use a damp sponge to do this. After following these steps, you will find your base glides over your face effortlessly.’

We are super excited to introduce our own primer, the Hyaluronic Plumping Primer. A 99% natural primer, our high-performance formulation contains hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and powerful Acacia Gum Complex for instant, visible results. Acmella Oleracea, often hailed as a natural alternative to botox, acts as a muscle relaxant to visibly reduce fine lines with continuous use.
