We are pleased to confirm that neither our products or our individual ingredients are not tested on animals.
We use two ingredients that are animal by-products; unrefined beeswax and lanolin. Both are approved by our certifying body Ecocert to fulfil their exacting criteria.
Our lanolin is the only one approved by Ecocert. It is an animal by-product that is obtained from sheep’s wool. It is extracted from the sheep’s wool after the animal has been sheared (which needs to happen yearly to stop the sheep getting too hot in the summer), it is not removed directly from the sheep and the sheep are not harmed in the process. We use it because of its healing and softening properties which have also been used by ancient cultures for thousands of years.
The Lanolin is in our super moisturising hand cream, and beeswax is in the super moisturising hand cream, rose otto body balm, hydrating rose otto & shea butter salve, cool brightening lemon and spearmint salve, stellar beauty balm, and skin brightening exfoliating spearmint polish.
Our washes, creams and lotions (apart from our hand cream) and body oils could all be considered vegan.
